Prefab beyond hotels: 96 bathroom pods for modular housing

EcoReadyBath is delivering 96 fully equipped prefabricated bathrooms for a new modular residential development in Berlin.
The project follows a “module-in-module” concept – our bathroom pods will be integrated into timber residential modules produced in Germany.

About the project

The development includes 94 micro-apartments and one commercial unit, built almost entirely using modular construction technology.
A total of 105 timber modules will form a five-storey building, with 86 apartments executed in a fully modular system.

Deliveries are set to begin in August 2025, with completion scheduled for 2026.

Our scope

• 96 prefabricated bathroom modules integrated into modular apartments

• Three functional types, including wheelchair-accessible variants compliant with DIN 18040

• Lightweight steel-frame structure with integrated waterproofing and acoustic separation

• Standardised finishes and factory-tested MEP interfaces for seamless on-site connection

• Compliance with barrier-free design requirements (80% of apartments accessible)

Prefab bathrooms are often associated with hotels — yet their precision, consistency, and process control deliver even greater value in residential and public housing.
This project demonstrates how prefabrication enables affordable, scalable, and sustainable housing, where quality, reliability, and efficiency are paramount.

It also reinforces EcoReadyBath’s role not just as a manufacturer, but as a process partner in modular construction — ensuring smooth technical integration with module factories and reliable on-site performance.
