Two bathroom pod quotations can look very different even when they are based on the same project, the same number of bathrooms and the same tender information.
The reason is not always price. Often, suppliers are simply pricing different scopes of work.
One quotation may include design development, BIM coordination, a benchmark pod, factory testing, transport, positioning and site support. Another may stop much earlier.
That difference matters because excluded work does not disappear from the project.
Someone still has to design it, coordinate it, install it or take responsibility for it. The cost may move to the general contractor, the MEP contractor, the design team or the site team.
That is why you should compare quotations beyond the final figure.
Check where each supplier’s responsibility starts and stops, including:
- design development and BIM coordination
- mock-up or benchmark pod
- factory testing and QA documentation
- transport, unloading and positioning
- MEP connections and commissioning
- site support and building interfaces
Only then can you see whether two suppliers are genuinely offering the same package.
Before comparing the price of the bathroom pod, compare the responsibility boundary. Otherwise, you may simply be comparing two prices for two different scopes.
